About
Frisco Fridays is a family-friendly small business marketplace where San Francisco natives and newcomers can connect, collaborate, and celebrate our similarities and differences as one community. The monthly event series will showcase a diverse array of retail, food, and service provider vendors, providing an opportunity for community members to discover and support their offerings. Additionally, we will spotlight one small business a month by placing them in The Lab. The lab is located at the center of the top of the park and is highly visible from most of the park between the playground and the basketball courts.

Purpose
The monthly event series aims to cater to small business owners with or without brick-and-mortar locations; current and past residents of San Francisco, and attract tourists to our community. Our activities will include highlighting a select few local vendors, providing an open market space for small businesses, family friendly entertainment, and connecting existing and aspiring business owners with business development information and resources.

Background
As a result of gentrification which began in the 1960's in San Francisco, we have slowly lost the spark that once made our city a destination for people to enjoy our diverse culture. From mom and pop shops closing, to our favorite restaurants disappearing overnight, we have seen our communities change before our eyes. The Tech industries massive exodus from San Francisco and Silicon Valley, coupled with the pandemic almost butchering our economy, FEP and MITC believes the remedy is in honoring our roots and investing in the backbone of our economy: small business.
